Common Causes
If you cannot find a candidate on an assessment’s results page, work through these causes in order:Delinked Test Attempts
When you change which tests an assessment contains, results recorded before the change are no longer comparable with results recorded after it. Equip therefore removes the older attempts from the main results page and calls them Delinked Test Attempts. For example, suppose your assessment originally had a quiz with 5 Medium-difficulty Finance questions and a Video Response test, and Candidate X attempted it. You then swap Finance for Accounting and remove the Video Response test, after which Candidates Y and Z attempt the assessment. The results page now shows only Y and Z. Candidate X’s test scores and overall score cannot be fairly compared with theirs because the underlying tests are different, so X’s attempts are delinked rather than mixed in.Viewing Delinked Test Attempts
On the assessment’s results page in the Assessment Dashboard, a delinked test shows “Delinked Test” in red instead of the test’s name, that’s how you can spot one. The results dashboard also includes a link that takes you straight to any delinked test attempts, so the candidate’s work is never lost. Their individual test submissions remain fully viewable there.Restoring an Equip-content quiz to its earlier settings does not relink old quiz attempts, because of how Equip’s question banks are configured. Switching Accounting back to Finance still leaves Candidate X’s quiz attempt delinked. Re-adding a removed Custom Test, such as the Video Response above, does bring those attempts back to the results page.
Credit Balance and Hidden Results
Equip lets your team’s credit balance run up to 25 credits into the negative, so a busy hiring drive is not interrupted the moment your balance hits zero. That flexibility comes with two limits.
Open invitations are also capped at your current credit balance plus 25. Once you purchase credits and the balance is positive again, the hidden results become visible.
What to Check
Run through this checklist before contacting support:1
Turn on the Show Unfinished filter
On the assessment’s results page, select Show Unfinished in the filters. Candidates who have not yet submitted every test appear only when this filter is on.
2
Look for delinked test attempts
If the assessment’s tests were edited after some candidates attempted it, open the delinked attempts link on the results dashboard to find their submissions.
3
Check your credit balance
If your balance is negative, results are hidden until you top up. Purchase credits and the results reappear.
4
Ask your team about deletions
Check whether a teammate deleted the attempt. Deleted attempts cannot be restored, so the candidate would need to be invited again.
Still cannot find the attempt after all four checks? Reach out through live chat and share the assessment name and the candidate’s email address, and we will investigate. See Contact Support.
