The Trust Score is a 0 to 100% rating shown at the top of every proctored assessment result and AI interview report. It summarizes how likely it is that the candidate attempted the test or interview fairly. As a rule of thumb, review the full proctoring evidence for any score below about 80%.
Every completed proctored assessment attempt and AI interview (one-way or conversational) receives a Trust Score. The ATS has none, since live interviews, applications and offers are not proctored. Instead of asking you to sift through photos, screenshots, and audio clips for every candidate, the score condenses all proctoring signals into a single number so you can focus your review where it matters.

How the Trust Score Is Calculated

Equip’s proctoring is powered by AutoProctor, and the Trust Score is computed automatically from the events recorded during the attempt. Violations detected by the active proctoring measures lower the score; a clean session keeps it high. The signals that can generate violations depend on which proctoring settings are enabled for each test. AI interviews have their own Proctoring Settings, in the interview’s settings.
On an AI interview report, the score reads N/A until the interview is finished, or when a finished attempt has no score.

Reading the Score

A higher score means fewer and less serious violations were recorded.
A low score is a signal, not proof of cheating. Harmless events, such as background noise at home or an accidental tab switch, can register as violations. Always check the evidence before rejecting a candidate.

Acting on Low Scores

1

Open the candidate's report

For an assessment, open the candidate from the Results page. For an AI interview, open the candidate’s interview report.
2

Review the Proctoring tab

Check whether the violations listed here look deliberate or incidental. AI interview reports show this tab next to the summary when proctoring is enabled.
3

Watch the Session Recording

If session recording was enabled, play it back. Then weigh the evidence against the candidate’s performance.
If many candidates score low on the same assessment, revisit its proctoring setup: Detect Audio in a noisy room, for example, can produce frequent but harmless violations.
