Every completed AI interview produces a detailed report for the candidate’s attempt: an AI-generated evaluation, the full transcript, and a recording of the session. This page explains what each part of the report contains and how to work with it.

The AI-Generated Report

To open a report:
1

Open the interview's results

From the AI Interviews dashboard, open the interview and go to its results list.
2

Select a candidate

Click the candidate whose attempt you want to review. Their report opens with the evaluation front and center.
Depending on the settings you enabled, the report shows up to three tabs: For a conversational interview, the default Test Summary includes:
  • Recommendation: the AI’s overall hiring recommendation for the candidate.
  • Strengths and Areas for Improvement: concise lists drawn from the candidate’s answers.
  • Summary: a narrative overview of how the interview went.
  • Topic Performance: one score card per topic, with a color-coded percentage score. Topic scores are weighted by difficulty: Medium items carry 10 points, Hard 20, and Expert 30.
For a one-way interview, the report shows each question alongside the candidate’s answer and its AI grade. Scoring uses the points you assigned to each question when building the template.
Teams with AI Interview Report Templates enabled can replace the default summary with a custom, template-driven evaluation. If a template is attached to the interview, the report renders your custom layout instead. See Custom Report Templates.
If you open a report too early, you may see one of two states instead of results. “This interview has not been completed yet.” means the candidate has not submitted, and “Results are being evaluated…” means the AI is still processing a submitted attempt. Evaluation usually finishes shortly after submission.

Downloading a PDF

Click Download on the report to export it as a PDF. A progress screen appears while the file is generated, and the export includes the evaluation so you can share it with hiring managers outside Equip.

Transcript and Recording

Each report includes the full interview transcript, with entries labeled Interviewer or Candidate and timestamped to the moment they were said, so you can distinguish the AI interviewer’s questions from the candidate’s answers. In a one-way interview report, the transcript appears beside the recording player; in a conversational interview report, it appears below the rest of the report.
Click any line in the transcript to jump the recording to that exact moment. This makes it fast to verify a specific answer without replaying the whole interview.
If the Workspace was enabled for a conversational interview, written and coded answers appear in the report too:
  • Code is captured as timestamped snapshots plus the final version, with the programming language shown.
  • Snapshots are seekable against the recording, so you can watch how the candidate built their solution over time.
Interviews are recorded server-side and transcripts are retained, so the recording and transcript are available even if the candidate’s browser closed unexpectedly during the session.
