Click the same assessment or interview link again, on any device. Equip automatically resumes your attempt wherever possible. A conversational AI interview is the exception: once started, it cannot be reopened unless your recruiter allows it. If an attempt cannot be resumed, your recruiter must delete it and invite you again.

When You Can Resume

Refreshing the page, or opening the link in another tab, browser, or device, all count as resuming. Whether you pick up where you left off depends on whether the time limit sits on each question or on the whole test. See Time Limits.
If you were invited by email with a unique link, you can switch to a completely different device and your remaining time carries over.

How to Resume

1

Open your assessment link on any device

Use the link you started with, from your invitation email or your recruiter. Sign in with the same email ID, because a different email would start a different candidate’s attempt.
2

Continue the assessment

Equip drops you back into the test you were on.
Candidate's instructions page for a Full Stack Developer assessment after reopening the link, greeting Sarah by name, with the progress bar at 1 of 2, Test 1, a Quiz, ticked as done and Test 2, a Programming test marked Desktop Only, as the current test

Reopening your link brings you back to the test you were on, with finished tests ticked

In a one-by-one quiz or a video response test, the question that was on screen when you disconnected cannot be answered again. You must skip it, and it earns no points.

Tests That Cannot Be Resumed

If your attempt cannot be resumed, ask your recruiter to delete the attempt and send you a new invitation. See Candidate Re-Attempts.

Resuming an AI Interview

A conversational AI interview cannot be reopened once it has started. The link shows AI Interview Completed instead. If your recruiter has turned on Allow resuming unfinished attempt, you can reopen an unsubmitted interview, but it restarts from the beginning; only the attempt you submit is graded.
