Test Scores and Overall Score: How Assessments are evaluated

On Equip, you can combine multiple tests into a single assessment. For instance, an assessment for a Software Developer may contain a Quiz and a Programming Challenge. The candidate gets a single link and attempts one test after another. On the Recruiter Dashboard, for a candidate's results, you will see each test's Individual Score and an Overall Score.

Weightage

The Overall Score is calculated based on the weightage you assign to each test in the assessment settings. If you think one test is more important than the other, you will assign it a higher weightage. In the example below, as the recruiter considers Programming and Quiz to be equally important, they both have 50% weightage. If the programming was, say, twice as important, it would have 67% weightage and the quiz would have 33% weightage.

|| All tests are assigned equal weightage by default while creating an assessment. You can also drag and rearrange the Test Order while assigning weightage.

Setting and Changing Weightage

You can set Weightage for each test from the Test Order tab of your Assessment Settings. If you change the Weightage in your Assessment Settings, Equip recalculates the overall scores of previous submissions. Thus, you can modify weightage any time from the Assessment Settings.

Assessments and Tests

The simplest way to get started on Equip as a recruiter is to create an assessment and preview it. An assessment is a set of tests that a candidate must take one after another. So, before creating an assessment, you will need to have tests to add to the assessment. Equip has standardized tests, with questions from its own database, that you can add to an assessment. You can also create your own tests and add those to an assessment.

The link to an assessment is what you will share with a candidate. You just have to select the job role and the experience level required for the role. We select some skills based on the role you have selected, but you can always add more skills to the assessment. The video below is fairly self-explanatory.

Creating a Custom Test

Tests that you create on your own are called Custom Tests. Let's create a simple quiz with a few questions. For this, you will click on Custom Tests on the left sidebar and then click on "Add New" Under Quizzes. You can then add a question with options. Once you have created the test you can add it to an assessment. The video below shows how you can add questions to the quiz.

Adding Members to your Team

Adding Team Members

A team on Equip is a set of people belonging to the same organization. When someone creates a Team on Equip, they become the Team Admin by default.

|| All members on the Team have the same privileges and will see the same data when they log in. The only additional privilege of a Team Admin is to be able to remove a Team member.

To add other members to your team, from your Recruiter Dashboard:

Click on Team on the left sidebar.

Enter the email IDs of the members you want to invite. If you are entering multiple email IDs, separate them by commas. All the email IDs will receive an email with a link to join your team. If you want to copy the link and send it manually to members of your team, you can do so by clicking on the Copy Link.

| A team can contain an unlimited number of members. But, there can only be one Admin per Team.

Testing for Multiple Skills At Once

We Recommend Adding Multiple Skills to Same Quiz

Equip allows you to test for multiple skills on the same assessment. If you are using Quizzes (MCQs, etc) and Equip's Content, there are two ways in which you can achieve adding multiple skills.

In the first method, you can add all the skills to the same Quiz. The questions are drawn from the different Question Banks and jumbled up together and presented to the candidate as a single Quiz. For example, if you have selected C++ and English Grammar as the skills, the first question may be on C++ and the second question on English Grammar.

In the second method, you add each skill as a separate Quiz. So, the candidate finishes all questions on C++, submits the quiz and then starts another quiz on English Language. If you test for 5 skills, the candidate will have to start 5 different quizzes.

| We highly recommend that you add skills to an existing Quiz instead of creating separate Quizzes: | 1. Better Candidate Experience: Candidates have to attempt only one quiz for multiple skills instead of starting many quizzes. | 2. Convenient for Recruiters: The recruiter will only see one quiz score, rather than multiple scores, which simplifies the process of analysing results and shortlisting candidates.

Write Results to Google Sheets

On Equip, you can automatically capture the results of an assessment in a Google Sheet. If you need the results of your assessment in a spreadsheet, this feature is useful to check the results real-time using a Google Sheet. If you were to Export to Excel feature, you will either have to wait to export the results until all candidates finish taking the assessment or you end up with multiple sheets as more candidates take the assessment. With Write results to Google Sheets, it is easy to check the results of your assessment real time as a candidate's result is written to the Google Sheet as they soon as they complete each test in an assessment.

How it works

Go to assessment Settings. You will find Write results to Google Sheets option under Miscellaneous settings.
Create a new Google Spreadsheet and grant Editor permission to hello@equip.co.
Paste the Google Spreadsheet URL in your assessment settings.
Click Create/Update to save your settings.
Once candidates start attempting the assessment with Write to Google Sheets enabled, Equip automatically creates sheets within the Google Spreadsheet to capture each tests' results and the overall assessment results.

Ensuring candidates don't cheat

Online Tests and Cheating

The biggest challenge with online assessments is that candidates can cheat on them. Tools like ChatGPT make it very easy to find answers to questions. Equip's automated AI Proctoring makes it difficult for candidates to cheat on the test. AI Proctoring involves tracking candidate activity and detecting malpractice that you can review later.

What is Proctoring and How Does it Work?

When a candidate starts a test, Equip automatically gains access to their:

camera feed
microphone feed
device screen

Throughout the test, it monitors all three. For example, if the candidate blocks the camera or if it detect multiple faces on the camera feed, it captures a photo that you can review later.

Also, if a candidate switches to a different tab or window, Equip takes a screenshot of that too. So, if the candidate opens Google or ChatGPT, you will see a screenshot of the tab they went to. The image below shows how a sample Proctoring Report would look. For a fuller report, visit this link.
