Psychometric Tests



Psychometric tests help you evaluate the personality and behavioral traits of candidates. Equip supports two types of Psychometric Tests: DISC and OCEAN. These are the most popular psychometric tests, used by hiring teams worldwide.

DISC test (24 questions, 12 minutes): Measures behavior and personality traits across four dimensions— Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness.
OCEAN test (50 questions, 25 minutes): Evaluates traits in Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. Also known as Big-Five Personality Test or Five Factor Personality Model.

How to use Psychometric Tests on Equip



Like with other tests, on Equip, you invite candidates to assessments. The assessment may have one or more tests. The video below shows how you can add a Psychometric test to an existing assessment. The process is the same for a new assessment you are creating.



FAQs



Should I choose DISC or OCEAN test?
A DISC test focuses on a candidate's behavior and communication styles whereas an OCEAN test focuses on deep-seated identity traits. You can choose depending on your requirement. For more details, compare DISC and OCEAN tests.

Do Psychometric Tests carry points?
No. Because these tests are subjective, they don't carry points and cannot be graded. Psychometric tests do not contribute to the overall score. They merely help you understand your candidate's behavioral and personality traits.

How do I interpret the results of the test?
When you hover over the graph in the results section, a description of each personality trait will appear, along with an explanation of the corresponding score interpretation.

Can I add my own questions to Psychometric Tests?
No, you can't. These are standardized tests, employing scientific methods to arrive at the personality type. If you want to ask your own questions, you can create a Quiz instead and have the questions as MCQs.

I have shortlisted a few candidates from an assessment. How do I make them take a Psychometric Test?
If candidates have already finished an assessment, you must invite them to another assessment to take the Psychometric Tests. For this, click on Export Results on the Shortlisted tab of your assessment results. Create a new assessment with Psychometric Test. Invite the shortlisted candidates from the Export Results sheet by entering their email addresses as comma separated values or by using a CSV file.
