TDS for Purchases
This article is relevant only for Indian customers
TDS Requirements
In a tax year, if you are make payments exceeding Rs 1,00,000 in total, or Rs 30,000 in a single transaction, the Indian Govt requires customers to deduct TDS on payments. TDS cannot be deducted on the Equip website's payment gateway. So, for such transactions (exceeding Rs 30,000), you could email us on hello@equip.co with the number of credits you'd like to purchase. We will share an invoice with bank transfer details and you could make the payment then. Once we receive the payment, we will add credits to your account.
However, if:
- your company's Accounting team insists on filing TDS for all transactions; or
- you want to buy credits immediately and then handle TDS
You could do this:
- Assume you are purchasing credits worth Rs 10,000
- The TDS is 10% = Rs 1,000
- On Equip, you make the purchase paying Rs 10,000 in full
- You then remit Rs 1,000 on the government portal as TDS
- Share Form 16A with us via email on hello@equip.co
- We will issue a refund of Rs 1,000 or issue its equivalent in credits
