# Equip in 10 Sentences

> The whole platform, explained in ten sentences.

New to Equip? This page gives you the entire platform in ten sentences, then a four-step path to your first assessment, and finally the doors into each part of the help center.

## The Ten Sentences

1. **Equip** is a self-serve hiring platform where recruiters shortlist the best candidates and candidates get a fair, skill-based chance to prove themselves.
2. It has three pillars, usable together or on their own: a free AI-native **ATS**, online skill **Assessments**, and **AI Interviews**.
3. The ATS is free forever and includes job posts, application forms, a configurable candidate pipeline, AI resume screening with a 0 to 100 **Job Fit Score**, and hiring analytics.
4. An **assessment** is a set of tests a candidate takes one after another, built from 9 test types including Quizzes, Programming, Communication (CEFR), Psychometric, and Video Response.
5. Every test type offers **Equip Content**, pre-built tests from our question library, and **My Content**, custom tests you author yourself.
6. AI Interviews come in two families: **one-way** interviews where candidates answer pre-set questions, and **conversational** interviews where a real-time voice AI adapts its questions and asks follow-ups.
7. Cheating prevention is built in: attempts run under **AI proctoring** powered by AutoProctor, and every completed attempt receives a 0 to 100% **Trust Score**.
8. Pricing runs on subscription plans (**Standard**, **Premium**, or **Elite**), each with a monthly credit allowance (1 credit equals \$1 or ₹95, depending on your team's country): 1 credit per candidate per test, 1 or 2 credits per one-way interview depending on question count, and 2 or 3 credits per conversational interview. Credits never expire while subscribed, and you can top up beyond your plan's allowance any time.
9. New teams get **10 free credits** on signup before subscribing, previewing assessments is always free and unlimited, and your plan sets your team's seat limit (Standard 2, Premium 5, Elite unlimited).

## Your First Assessment in Four Steps

The fastest way to feel how Equip works is to create one assessment and preview it.

    Select the job role and the experience level you are hiring for. Equip suggests relevant skills, and you can add more skills or attach your own [custom tests](/custom-tests).

  <Step title="Preview it for free">
    Previews are unlimited and never cost credits. For quizzes that use Equip's library, the preview shows **sample questions** that represent what candidates will see, which protects the question bank; custom tests preview with your actual questions.

  <Step title="Invite candidates">
    Share the assessment link directly, or enter candidate email addresses to send invitations. Each invited candidate receives a **unique link** to their attempt.

  <Step title="Watch results come in live">
    As candidates start and submit, your dashboard updates in real time with progress, scores, and Trust Scores.

  Recruiter signup requires a **work email**; personal domains like Gmail are not accepted. If a team with your company's domain already exists, ask its admin to invite you instead of signing up again.
