# Redirect URL After Completion

> Send candidates to a page of your choice after they submit their assessment.

By default, a candidate who finishes an assessment sees an **Assessment Completed** screen and simply closes the tab. If you would rather send them somewhere specific, such as a thank-you page, a scheduling link, or the next step in your application flow, enable a **Redirect URL** on the assessment.

## Setting a Redirect URL

The redirect option lives in the assessment's settings and applies to every candidate who completes that assessment.

    From your dashboard, open the assessment and go to its settings.

  <Step title="Enable the redirect">
    Find **On Assessment Completion, redirect candidate** and select **Yes**.

  <Step title="Enter the destination URL">
    Type the full address in the **Redirect URL** field. It must be a valid web URL starting with `http://` or `https://`.

  <Step title="Save your changes">
    Save the settings. The redirect now applies to all future completions of this assessment.

<Tip>
  Point the URL at a page you control, like a "thanks for applying" page on your careers site. It reassures candidates that their submission went through and tells them what happens next.

## What Candidates Experience

The redirect changes only the very last screen of the attempt. Everything before submission, including tests, timers, and proctoring, stays exactly the same.

| Redirect setting | What the candidate sees after submitting                                                                                                                                  |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **No** (default) | The **Assessment Completed** screen with a note that they may contact their recruiter for the results. They close the tab themselves.                                     |
| **Yes**          | The same completed screen, plus the message "You will be automatically redirected in **5** seconds. Please wait." with a live countdown. The browser then opens your URL. |

  The 5-second pause gives candidates a clear signal that their assessment was submitted successfully before they leave Equip. If a candidate later claims they submitted but you see no result, the completion screen is the proof to ask about.
