# Tracking Live Progress of Your Assessment

> Watch candidates move through your assessment in real time.

If you are running a large-scale assessment in a short window, the **live progress view** gives you real-time insight into how your candidates are doing. You can watch the drive unfold without refreshing exports or waiting for final results.

## The Live View

The live progress view tracks an assessment as candidates attempt it. You can also choose the **time window** the view applies to, which is useful when you only care about today's drive rather than the assessment's full history.

| What you can monitor            | Why it matters                                                                                      |
| ------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Overall assessment progress** | See how far your candidate pool as a whole has moved through the assessment.                        |
| **Individual test completion**  | See completion for each test inside the assessment, so you can spot where candidates currently are. |
| **Time window**                 | Focus the view on a specific period instead of all activity since the assessment was created.       |

  For a live spreadsheet of scores during a drive, enable [Write Results to Google Sheets](/write-results-to-google-sheets). Equip writes results in real time as candidates complete each test.

## Statuses You Will See

Candidates attempt the tests in an assessment **one by one**, and they can take breaks between tests. During a drive, your pool is therefore spread across a few broad stages.

| Stage             | What it means                                                                                               |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Not yet started   | The candidate was invited but has not begun the first test.                                                 |
| Attempting a test | The candidate is inside one of the tests right now.                                                         |
| Between tests     | The candidate finished a test and has not started the next one yet.                                         |
| Completed         | The candidate finished every test. Their scores and [Trust Score](/trust-score) appear on the results page. |

  Candidates who are partway through do not appear on the main results page by default. Turn on the **Show Unfinished** filter to include them. See [Missing Results](/missing-results) for other reasons a candidate may not be listed.

## Tracking Credit Usage

Equip deducts **1 credit per test** a candidate starts. The first credit is deducted when you invite the candidate, and each further credit is deducted as they start the next test in the assessment.

Because the live view shows how many candidates have reached each test, it also helps you calculate the credits deducted for a particular assessment.
