# Why Can't I See Quiz Questions?

> Why Equip library questions stay hidden while creating assessments and viewing results.

  Equip hides its library quiz questions from everyone, including recruiters, so candidates can never find them in advance. Results give you skill-wise and difficulty-wise breakdowns instead. If you need full question visibility, use a Custom Quiz.

## Question Protection

When you use **Equip Content**, quizzes draw questions at random from Equip's **question banks**. You choose the skills and difficulty level; Equip picks the exact questions for each candidate.

Question leaks are one of the biggest threats to any online assessment. Equip is self-serve, so anyone with a business email can create a recruiter account. If quiz questions were visible in the builder or in reports, a determined candidate could create their own team, build an identical assessment, and attempt it repeatedly to uncover the question bank.

To keep your assessments fair, Equip protects its questions in several ways:

| Protection               | How it works                                                                                                                        |

| **Restricted access**    | Real questions are never shown without a recruiter account or a valid assessment invitation. Only sample content is public.         |
| **No search indexing**   | Because questions sit behind account access, search engines cannot index them. Searching for Equip questions surfaces only samples. |
| **Business emails only** | Personal email domains cannot create recruiter accounts, and accounts showing suspicious activity are blocked.                      |
| **Large question pool**  | Question banks are large and growing, so no single candidate ever sees more than a small slice of any skill's questions.            |
| **Randomization**        | Each candidate gets different questions from the pool, in a different order, with shuffled answer options.                          |
| **Question refresh**     | Equip tracks how often each question has been seen and retires older questions, replacing them with new ones.                       |

  Even two candidates who start the same assessment at the same moment will likely see no common questions, and almost certainly not in the same order.

## What You Can See

Hiding the questions does not mean hiding performance. Candidate reports include a **skill-wise and difficulty-wise breakdown** for every Equip quiz, so you can see exactly where a candidate was strong or weak without exposing the questions themselves.

Visibility also differs by test type. The strict policy applies only to Equip quizzes:

| **Programming, SQL, CSS** | Yes                              | Yes                       |

Coding challenges can stay visible because the risk is much lower. The coding pool is large relative to demand, one question works across many programming languages, and memorizing a full coding solution is far harder than memorizing an MCQ answer.

  Equip does not share its quiz questions even on request. This applies to all teams equally, which is exactly what keeps the questions safe for your assessments too.

## Custom Content Is Different

If your process requires seeing every question a candidate answered, create a **Custom Quiz**. The content is yours, only your team can see it, and none of the restrictions above apply.

With a Custom Quiz you can:

* Write and select every question yourself, with **15 question types** to choose from.
* See a full **question-wise breakdown** of each candidate's responses and points in results.
* Set your own points, timers, and optional negative marking per question.

  You can mix Equip Content and Custom Tests freely in one assessment. Many teams pair an Equip quiz for broad screening with a Custom Quiz for role-specific questions they want full visibility into.
