# Candidate Login Methods

> Sign in to an Equip assessment with a 6-digit email code sent to your inbox. No password required.

When you open an assessment link, Equip shows a **Sign in to continue** page. There are no passwords and no account setup; verifying your email address is all it takes.

Enter your email address on the sign-in page, this must match the email your recruiter invited. Equip sends a verification email to that address with a **6-digit login code**. Follow the prompt "Enter the 6-digit Equip Login Code that was sent to your email", type the code, and click **Verify & Continue**.

Once verified, Equip asks you to confirm your **first name**, **last name**, and **email address** before continuing to the assessment.

  The code expires in **30 minutes**. If it expires, go back to the assessment link to request a new one.

<Warning>
  If your recruiter invited you with a unique link, the code is always sent to the **invited email address**, no matter who opens the link or on which device. Forwarding your invitation to someone else will not let them sign in, because the code still goes to your inbox.

<Tip>
  Need to switch devices mid-attempt? Open the same assessment link on the new device and verify the same email address again. Your attempt resumes with the remaining time intact.
